We found it amazing to participate in WCAI (Women's Coffee Alliance.India) organised Coffee Santhe, especially so since the fund raising would be for the welfare of women in plantations! 

Continuing our journey of speciality robustas, this year we did two micro lots with our special processing, and careful handling of our lovely robustas, selectively picked, and co-fermented and carefully dried! Our BluhillsCoffee uses these premium Wayanad Coffees.

Our Coffee was selected as one of the top 8 coffees from 250+ plantation samples. These were Robustas from the farm, select-picked, cherries washed, floaters removed, and subject to anaerobic fermentation for hours and soft sun-dried on tables. These were carefully hulled and presented after quality checks.

Once pollinated, the coffee plants take their sweet time of 1 year to develop its Cherry! When ripe, we do select picking of the "right red" cherries to ensure you get a balanced tones from our plantation! This is often not the most economical as we go 2 to 3 rounds harvesting the right fruit for you. We only harvest ripe (ripe yellow and red), and segregate the reds, while we move out the floaters (over ripe). These uniform lots are what gets chosen to travel to you.

Visiting plantation during this time is one of the best times, and second to only a fully blossomed coffee garden. You can also observe next year flowers preparing themselves on the plant!
